QPAC Tunnel, between Grey and Stanley Streets, South Brisbane

The QPAC Tunnel is QPAC’s newest artspace, featuring the work of local artists and designers. This work, by Brisbane based artist Martin Smith, reflects on space as a passage from one point to another, and by portraying other disparate landscapes in an urban environment evokes a journey through to other places, communities and cultural experiences that essentially end up reflecting on our own personal experiences.
Martin Smith was one of the artists originally approached to develop work for a major public art project for QPAC which did not proceed. The current tunnel installation owes something to Martin’s original concept design, and we would like to thank and acknowledge the contribution of Arts Queensland’s art+place to the development of the project.
