500 men and boys from every Australian state, performing in a choral extravaganza! The sound made by this unique multi generational gathering of singing communities is already resonating throughout the country as singers prepare for the festival. International guest conductor, Dr Christopher Kiver and some of Australia’s best: Lyn Williams OAM , Paul Holley and Robert Stewart will conduct well known favourites and feature world premieres of new music. There will be something for every musical taste. Pemulwuy , from whom the festival takes its name, was an aboriginal warrior and the finale piece written by Paul Jarman tells of his story of great strength and courage. The concert also features Brisbane’s own ABC Classic FM Choir of the Year, The Birralee Blokes and The Vocal Consort from Victoria conducted by Noel Ancell OAM and members of the National Indigenous Choir.
