Lee Alexander McQueen is arguably one of the late 20th and early 21st centuries’ most important fashion designers. McQueen consistently presented a world of spectacle, confronting beauty, and an extreme aesthetic in his collections. At the same time, McQueen was a consummate tailor, having apprenticed on Savile Row in the 1980s. His focus on detail and ‘the cut’ remained with him throughout his career. The loss of Alexander McQueen recently sent shockwaves through the fashion world. Join us for an overview of his work and life, and a look at the significance of the cut in Western fashion. Presented by Kathleen Horton and Nadia Buick.
