Topology and Loops (Melbourne) collaborate in a mammoth retrospective of key moments in radio’s 100 year history. Key speeches are transformed into song. We hear Clinton, Einstein, Freud, Malcolm X, MLK, Hitler, Gandhi, Churchill, George VI and many others speaking, but framed in music to sound like they’re singing. The piece highlights the musical nature of speech, and how it subconsciously charges the emotions through melody.
Joining Topology and Loops is a supporting cast of young artists (Top-Up), expanding the ensembles to chamber orchestra proportions for an epic treatment.
