An inspired, high energy, cabaret romp in which acclaimed Brisbane singer, actress and producer Carita Farrer’s most cherished character, The Drunken Diva, stumbles into life. A tribute show it ‘aint but an irreverent look at the delightfully painful public demise of a performer.
The integrity of Farrer’s vocal talents and exquisite songbook are superbly matched by piano (and occasional violin) accompaniment by the highly respected composer John Rodgers, who patiently plays his way through the show whilst being subjected to public humiliation and torment.
She’s appalling, unpredictable and shameless… but you can’t help loving her for it.
